PAULA K I JUST WISH YOU MADE A BIGGER COFFER MAKER PEHAPS A 10 CUP OR MORE THANKS AGAIN. I AM VERY HAPPY AND PLEASED WITH THE COFFEE MAKER. THE REMOVEABLE WATER TANK IN WONDERFUL IT AVOIDS THE SPILLAGE OF WATER ALL OVER THE CONTER TOP.
Also - it has a smaller glass coffee pot, so it may not work for you if you're looking for a big 10 - 12 cup maker. What's not to like. I searched every coffee maker on Amazon before choosing this model. True - it is NOT a traditional "Grind & Brew" machine, because you have to physically pour the grounds from the grinder to the brewing cup. But, it's self contained, compact, easy to work, makes great coffee & comes at a great price.
I had Braun and Black and Decker before so I tried this because it has a built in coffee grinder. But when I used it, it sucks, I almost throw it away, unfortunately because I already disposed the box before I tested it and I can't return it anymore, I had to open it inside and removed the check valve to make it work, other wise the water turn into steam before it reach the coffee. To make story short, I'm doing everybody a favor by letting you all this, save yourself an aggrevation and money.Don't buy this one.Good luck. This is the worst coffee maker I ever bought.
The basket inside the pot is different but not a problem once I got used to it. The only improvement I would like to have is an auto shut off, but I've gotten used to making sure I cut it off when I get my last cup.
One full pot provides me two xtra large mugs of coffee and one regular size mug for my wife. The grinder is quiet and easy to clean since the grinding chamber lifts off the motor.
I've had this coffee maker a month now and use it daily. A pause and serve would be a nice feature if you're in a big hurry, however, I don't miss that because it brews fast.
Overall this was the perfect coffee maker for us. It makes excellant coffee.
Once I had a few grounds in the coffee but then started removing the basket and dumping the grounds before pouring and solved that issue.
After eyeing this product for over a year at a local retailer, I finally asked my children for one for Mother's Day this year. I actually like that the brewbasket fits into the carafe instead of being attached to the machine. Although the grinder is the simple sort, not burr type, it does well enough, and the removable grinder cup makes it a snap to keep clean. The water well is easy to read and easy to fill, even without removing it from the body of the machine.
It definitely pops up. This is a much cleaner design. My only caution is regarding the #2 Medelco gold filter that so many users recommend. I really like the way this coffee maker looks, performs, and cleans up. I just got mine in the mail and it is not a perfect fit. I make coffee about three times a week - in other words, I'm no addict or even particularly an aficionado - but I love this coffeemaker.
The heating element does not turn itself off, so there might be old hot coffee, but never old cold coffee, unless you planned it that way. Get your's through Amazon for the best price. Unlike some combination grinder/brewers, there is no risk of steam ruining the grinding mechanism because the operations are well separated. It doesn't hurt either that there is a suggested guideline on how much water to add for iced coffee or tea.
